How to troubleshoot the electronics

Last week I completed several upgrades to my 6808 along with a lube and cleanup.
When I was finished I installed the battery to give it a test run. Wouldn't run.
The ESC and radio showed no signs of life.
I tried several times with the same results.
I charged the battery, tried again, same results. NADA! ZIP!
I left it on the workbench until today.

I sitting at the bench trying to decide if and or how to ask the LHS to troubleshoot the problem, when my neighbor walks up and ask "what are you doing?"
So... I explained my situation and began reciting the steps while doing them.
First you turn on the controller.
Then you install the battery.
Then you press the button on the ESC.


My neighbor is a genious!
