Receiver battery compatibility...

Hello, I bought an aftermarket battery pack for my Nitro Rustler, which has the good ol' 27MHz system instead of the newer 2.4GHz one, and I'm actually wondering if the battery isn't too strong maybe for the receiver. The battery pack is a Team Orion 1600mAh 6.0v NiMH 5-cell. Will this do fine or will I smoke my receiver if I use it?

should be fine to run that with your receiver, as long as you stay in the 6.0v range mah is just the length the battery will hold its charge for the servo's.
