KB upgrades for an electrics newbie

I got my KB Rally two weeks ago and it is my first electric rc car, i have had a tmaxx 2.5 and jato 3.3 but i have no clue about electric models and upgrades.

I want to increase the cars speed for high speed runs, what parts (motor, tyres, electronics) should i get ?

    any help would be awsome

for tires most people recommend hpi x pattern tread shown here
    http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=4790
these tires will fit any of hpis' 26mm wide touring car wheels
    http://www.hpieurope.com/gallery2.ph...lsmain&lang=en
for increase in speed you can 1 get another stock battery and the series
connector it will go 50 ( you have to put the 31 tooth pinion in though)
2 you can go lipo but they all kinda depends on your budget

as for electronics most people stay stock or they upgrade the esc to a castle creations mmp
    http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...a_max_pro.html
or you can go a little cheaper for the next step down the sidewinder

a lot of people choose to buy the 550 size motor mount and hook up a 1/10th scale brushless motor
    http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...drive.html#ten
in the 1/10th scale category is many of the options

Would it be best to run it with the series connecter and the new pinion than buy a new brushless motor and esc??
Not sure as my friends ken block's esc start smoking up and one of his batteries soldering came off when he ran his in series, he changed the pinion too. What can i do to prevent this happening to me?

Running the 2 nimh batteries in series is just meant for speed runs. Start, full speed, stop, then time to cool. It is not meant for running slow, a lot of starting and stopping, or bashing in general. That is when you fry things like your friend did.

do you know what else i would need to buy (such as motor mounts, any wires or plugs that i would need, anything to get it running) if i wanted to upgrade to an sv2 esc and 4600kv motor??

I have pics posted in my thread with that same combo btw. (in the rally section)

You will need a new motor plate, motor mount, gear cover and receiver box. These are all the stocked parts from the brushed fiesta or brushed summit.

You will also want new gears to accommodate the larger motor and whatever battery you decide to run. Right now I run 31/50 but that is just with 1 stock battery or 2 in parallel. I think I will get lipos next week.

You will also need to get a connector (I went with traxxas) for the new esc.

Let me know if you need more info
