Yep. I had the same one... failed in a week. I'd recommend the esky EK2-0704.

Esky Head lock gyro EK2-0704B

the Drift Assist box. is a copy of the futaba G190 but you can get another copy for just £7 lol

esky EK2-0704 Thats the gyro Ive been using. whats the benefits of having a head lock gyro(EK2-0704B) vs normal gyro(EK2-0704)?

Got my gyro in and mounted it on the rear body post. It seems to work for the most part but while driving at half throttle in a straight line the car wiggles side to side. the gyro is strapped in with wire ties, I'll try some servo tape and wire ties to see if that helps.

Also my red light is on all the time, is that what everyone else is seeing?

The red light is normal. The wiggle side-to-side happens with my car too. I haven't tried to diagnose the cause yet, but it did it before the gyro. I'm going to investigate the knuckles, as I believe it could be that they aren't quite aligned. I'm using the GPM aluminum ones.

itzstress; there is no known benefit to the head lock, other than there are more to choose from on eBay, and they are cheaper (in some cases). I can't say if they have an effect that's any different that a non-head lock. I think for ground-based rc, the simple "normal" gyro is the way to go.

The wiggling side to side is definitely a destroyed bearing inside the knuckle. Happened to me before I did my RPM upgrade.

Mine never wiggled until I put in the gyro. I'll pull mine out and see what it does. I also had it in with just a wire tire and no servo tape so it moved just a bit.

turn down the gyro so it's not as sensitive. helis also experience this.

2:09 you can see the wiggle i think it looks sick for most of the video it was full throttle..the tires feel so thin now. i want to do a 2s and 3s vid next.

Got the gain dialed down and this thing is sick. No more wiggle, you really have to learn how to drive with a gyro, it does a lot of the work for you.

it acts as stability control....once the rear starts to slide or hit a bump at high speeds... the gyro/drift box will sense the slide and counter-steer. it takes some tuning to get it to suit your driving style. personally i drift better without it. i use mine for high speed runs.
