    Sidewinder SCT

Should this system work in my 2wd 2.4Ghz Slash?

I finally got my CC SCT system and I guess my soldering skills aren't what they used to be or these traxxas connectors are harder to solder than most other things. I guess my super old soldering iron that I have for 10 yrs or so could have something to do with it as well. But I'm sure its just me. I will take a ride to the LHS in the morning and hopefully someone there might be able to help me out. The system looks good and solid but the esc does not have tabs to screw it down. A little sticky tape or sticky back velcro should do the job.

Use a hobby knife to slice the sticker on the bottom near the edges... peel it off the bottom in the middle area there where you sliced it... clean it with rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball.. then use servo tape (I use 3m or Loctite tape for this) and stick it down.. DONT use velcro.. eventual;ly it will come loose while driving and bad things can happen once that occurs.

I believe it is RTR. How much soldering is involved? Easy to program? Do most of yall have that Castle Link thing?

You have to solder on the connector of your choice and find a way to mount it to your chassis. I am using some 3M double sidded tape as posted a few posts up. I chose the Traxxas high current connector because that's what all my batteries are using. The directions seem very simple and straight forward. I don't yet have a castle link but I am considering getting the field programing card as it works as a castle link aswell and is only a few dollars more and lets you do some easy programming of the functions of the sidewinder esc with outthe need of na computer.

i run this in my 4x4, it is nice! the battery wire's are already tinned and just need a drop of solder to attach the connector's. Double side sticky tape work's great I made a mount to raise it off the chassis with a piece of black abs and an old crdit card. Totally ghetto but it is really secure now. Trying 4s next week!
