My Yellow 1/16 Summit

Hey Guys,

I took one of my MERVs and converted it to a 1/16 Summit... And, this is how it looks...



I changed all the parts needed except for the driveshafts...

I also dyed the chassis and the long travel rockers in black, and had the front/rear braces and the motor mount anodize in black to match the chassis color... I also added yellow shock covers from BadHorsie...

Next steps is to add lights and run it!!! Hope you like it...

I thought of that, but, I'm going to leave it as it is right now... Maybe when I have to dye something black again...


And, I added four 3mm white LEDs today...



Will add the top and side 5mm white LEDs too..

After 8 months, I still owe some pictures from the inside, but, meanwhile, I'll be replacing the servo with the one from *******: TGY-3900DMH




Comes with screws and servo horns...



A comparison with the 2080 servo...



The stock servo horn works perfectly and the only modification that needs to be done is to trim the 4 little tabs on the sides...



I'll post a video this weekend... Hope you like the pictures...

The one from Traxxas is faster as you can see, the one from ******* has a little more travel on both sides...

So daniel... When's the custom aluminum chassis making its appearance?

Hahaha... IMO an aluminum chassis is not a good idea, I prefer to spend $10 on a stock chassis, but, it would be cool to have one (search the forum, there are at least two versions)... Maybe some day, is not in my "to do list" right now... I have too many open projects to start another one I'm afraid...

Well, after almost a year this project is almost over... I added front and rear custom lights...



As you can see I added four additional 3mm white LEDs on the front bumper... And, the stock four 5mm white LEDs...



And, both 5mm red LEDs on the rear bumper...



Everything is connected through a custom made "power strip"...



I also added a 0.1F capacitor to avoid light flickering (the green rounded thingy on the right)...

And, one power socket is left empty, so, when the roof light bar is released, I can connect it there...

Hope you like it... Oh, and, I dyed all the turnbuckles black as suggested...

Hahaha, not on this one, the only thing left to do is the top roof light bar...
