A-arms

does anyone ream their A-arms ? mine are on the stiff side .just curious to see what others are doing to fix this

Not me.. mine have no binding. Maybe you have a bent pin?

no bent pins . i did check that . they are clean with no build up if grime or dirt

More important than reaming is the arm thickness. RPM arms are really bad. You have to sand the heck out of them so they dont bind up.

your pin is screwed into the arm unless you have after markets with two e-clips, so your binding isn't coming from a too narrow pin channel.

Rule of thumb, take your pin out, you should be able to slip a piece of paper in between arm and bulk/tranny. if you can't sand the face of the arm (not the bulk or tranny). Use a file or emery board(something stiff), if you just use sandpaper you will round the face.

You may need to ream your pin channels on the bulk/tranny side.

Take your a-arm off and put the pin back in the bulk/tranny and i should spin freely. If it doesn't, get to reaming.

Also check your pin for wear or grooves/scratches. You can use a fine paper on these and smooth them out.

Sorry, but you are wrong. The slash comes stock with the e clips up front, but the rear has the screw in ones.

Actually, I am partially correct. AND it doesn't matter what is holding it in place, any binding i ever had in the 3 slashes I have owned has been in the area where I was talking about or there was a bent pin.

I agree on the bent pin also... Mine was a bit tight after a while and I took it apart and my pin looked straight. I then set it down on a flat surface and slowly rolled it across and then this is when I could see it was slightly bent. It so slightly bent it was hard to tell unless it sitting on a flat surface at a certain spot, but this was the problem. I replaced it and all is better. They are so cheap you might as well try replacing, see if this fixes it and if not, o well now you got an extra for when you do bend it because it will happen!

And if it's slightly tight on a brand new slash, leave it alone. After a couple runs they will loosen up.

Just my opinion but I have the RPM a arms and there is no binding. They work great for me. I use thread lock on the rear pins so they won't work themselves out. I also spray the pins with WD-40. Seems to make them move a little smoother.

My rear RPM arms, were so tight it would just sit there with no pin in it. And yes before you say it they where on the correct side.

i have some time on my hands so i guess i`ll tune them up a bit . mine seem to be binding in this same manner after further inspection .
