If you try running 2s in series with the ESC in lipo mode it will not arm, there is an over voltage protection which keeps it from arming. The only way to do it is in nimh mode with no LVC. I would not recommend doing it as it is more voltage than the ESC is going to be happy with and heat issues are sure to be a problem.

he never even specified if it was 1s 2s or 3s. but if you are running the stock esc you will fry it trying to run 2s in series. upgrade the esc to a mamba. i have upgraded to the sidewinder but if i had my time back i would have waited a little longer and ordered the mamba. the sidewinder is great though if your only looking to run 3s.

Im not to fused at the moment, being new to RC im still learning. At the moment the best ste up i have is two of the standard nimh batt's in series for the 45+ speed. I here on the forum everyone saying how great there car is whem running on 3s lipo's. are there only using on batt. I just want to get the best from my car. Speed power and running time.

That is a two cell battery if it is the same one my lhs carries. Parallel yes, series no.

IMHO, the fit on that battery is too tight. There are better choices...

Then why is it possible to run to Nimh pack in series?

    Excellent question.

Have you run two 2s in series when doing speed runs in your rally?

    great question bro!
fully charged nimh packs can actually have a starting voltage higher than lipo
I have seen Mini Revos running 4s and they were stupid fast!

That is exactly my point guys.

A 6-cell Nimh pack, fresh off the charger will have a higher voltage than does a fully charged 2S LiPo. Therefore if Traxxas says you can safely run 2, 6-cell Nimh packs in series, then with a little common sense you can run 2, 2S LiPo's in series also. Certainly consideration must be given to appropriate gearing with respect to operating conditions. Gear it too high, run it too hard or too long and the ESC temps will rise high enough to cause a failure.
