    Stampede Motor Upgrade

    Hi,
    I am looking to upgrade the Titan motor on my Stampede to something else.
    Something powerful and rebuildable. Also not too expensive.

    Any ideas?

    @wirgej38

    Maybe later, but I was looking for just a brushed motor for now.

    Here are a few, but quality brushed motors are becoming more difficult to find (unless you want a crawler motor), and parts for them even harder still. http://coastalhobby.com/xcart/home.php?cat=462 And here: http://www.advantagehobby.com/?cat=3...facturerid=191 With brushless motors being so cheap now, it's hard to see shelling out money for a motor, that in comparison to a BL motor, is quite maintenance intensive, and costs almost as much. But if you want to run a brushed setup, have at it, just be prepared to do a bit of searching for them, and their associated parts.

    Thanks for the info wirgej38 and TAT2.

    I think I might try the ASC9626 Associated Reedy Radon 17T Brushed Motor.

    Will this work directly with the XL5 speed controller?

    Has anyone had success with this motor?

    That motor will work with the XL-5 ESC, but note that it comes with bushings in it rather than bearings, and while you can replace the springs, they call it "non-rebuildable" as well. Reedy does have these motors, which fit all of your criteria, but at these prices... http://teamassociated.com/reedy/parts/details/516/ and http://teamassociated.com/reedy/parts/details/517/ Top speed of both should be about the same as the stock Titan, or maybe a couple of MPHs faster, but these will have gobs more torque.
    Couple more worth considering: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BMPRIM/...SIN=B000BMPRIM http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BMSS3I/...SIN=B000BMSS3I
    This motor was, with good reason, a fave around here for a long time: http://www.gnchobbies.com/formula-pr...15tdouble.html This will be faster than the Titan by 5-7 MPH, and has more torque than the stock motor too. They're nice little motors. Also, take a look at the rest of the motors they carry, as some of these fit your criteria too.
    And there's always Ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=bru....c0.m270.l1313

    If you go with a venom... gear it SUPER low... or it will melt...They are known for running hot.
