    Different Wheels

I ordered some new tires and wheels for my summit, geolandar tires and scorch 6 spoke wheels. The description for the scorch wheels says they will fit just about any 12mm hex so I am hoping they will fit with no probs. Has anyone tried these wheels on the summit yet? They also look like a similar offset as compared to the stock wheels, bolts on in the center of the wheel basically. I spent a lot of time looking at diff wheels to get what I thought would fit and work the best. There is not too much info about what wheels will fit the summit so i hope they work.

Yeah it was a good post I read it. I do like the stock tires but they are too aggressive for the street where I live. I run in the front yard a lot or bash at the local park so im looking for a more all around tire. The stock ones are more geared for crawling in my opinion. I was stuck between the pro line dirt hawgs or the yokohama geolandar. I went with the geolandars because I had them on my rc-10gt and they were great, plus they get good reviews and are cheap. The wheels was my main concern. I believe the ones I ordered should slap right on.

I was out bashing my summit yesterday and I realized how much I really dont care for the stock tires... They just seem too soft and grabby for bashing. I squeezed them and I dont think they even have foam in them! I feel the stock tires are geared more towards crawling than anything, even the direction they are mounted, the tread pattern looks like its on backwards to me.

So did you do anything to gear down your merv for those bigger tires?

The dirt hawgs are 3.6". Im going with a 4" tire so I will need to gear down more. I started another post on it, I flipped the tranny gears and went up 2 teeth on the pinion, so with the larger tires im hoping it will be close to the same speed.

I am also running the yokohama geolandar tires on my summit with pro line epic 2.2 bead locks. I didn't do anything to the gearing all stock and it went 3mph faster (that was with a gps strapped to the roof). They also weigh a lot more to than stock. No heat issues either.

Are you running lipo? 2 or 3s? I run 3s and its too fast as it is, so I do not mind loosing a little speed.

Cool I will have to try all gear combinations to find what I like, good thing the pinions are only 2.50 each haha. How do you like the geolandars vs the stock tires?
