Bored with your color?

Got my min-sum yesterday. All the hobby store had was white, which I wasn't thrilled about--then I remembered how cool the African Land Cruisers and Range Rovers looked with Zebra stripes.

Materials required: Black Sharpie.

1) Remove ExoCage (small hex screws inside body)

2) Decorate



On the roof, I just used the sharpie to outline the roof ribs--to break up the design a little bit.

3) Re-install ExoCage


4) All done!

I think this would look really cool on a yellow one, too!

did you haft to do anything to the body to get the color to go through. I never seen a stock body done like this i have a blue one and need to do something to mine!

No, the marker is on the outside, not the inside. Sharpie black permanent marker. I think the exocage will keep it from getting scraped off when tumbling, but it actually seems very durable just as it is. Just make sure to clean it with alcohol before you attempt (I did it brand-new).

That looks cool! I am actually bored with my color too, blue.... I have changed the color of bodys before by getting the old color off with a bead blaster. It works quite well and is easy, if you have access to a bead blaster. Im gonna do it, ill post some pics of the process.

I just got done bead blasting my body today, I will take some before and after pics and try to get them up this week.

Do you use glass bead? it doesn't scratch the plastic?

It was not sand, not sure exactly wat it was, but its going to look foggy when done. It dont matter though because the outside is what makes it shiny.

Thanks I will have to try this. I have glass, aluminum oxide, and shot peen media. I think glass will work the best.

I used gunmetal pc spray I got from my lhs. The tires are geolandars, and the rims are hpi scorch 6 spoke, also gunmetal.
