    Anybody using the bearing adapter?

Traxxas has some hop up parts on there website. This bearing adapter looks interesting. Anybody try one yet? What are the advantages to using it?

I have one, not installed yet. Its a part thats plastic stock and when the slipper slips alot it creates heat that can be transferred to the plastic bearing adapter causing it to melt. The aluminum one will obviously not melt. Thats what I understood it was for anyway. Most people feel this part should be included stock.

Just put mine in tonight. Gotta take the slipper assembly out but it's not hard at all.

So when you remove the rear end and slipper assembly does this go in the back of the chassis where the slipper enters the chassis?

Ok thanks for the help. I understand where the bearing goes but what about the adapter? Does the adapter fit in the opening with the bearing?

Actually the problem is when the bearing starts to go bad it heats up or seizes which then leads to the bearing adapter spinning inside the bearing and that's where the melting happens. Not from the slipper slipping. This is also why guys with the slash 4x4 have gone to the kingheadz, or flm motor mount with the over sized bearing.

The adapter goes behind the slipper spring, in front of the spur gear. Once you remove the slipper spring youll see a bearing there (not the bearing that goes in the spur) and inside THAT bearing is the plastic adatper your going to replace.
