Ski kits for the Slash 4x4

I saw this in the pede section and thought that something like this kit would work on the slash. I't's a bit pricey but could be worth it! http://www.fullforcerc.com/ski-kits.htm I'm debating on a set...

You would have to take out the center drive shaft for it to work, I guess if you have alot of snow and it stays snow covered alot of the year then maybe but I wouldnt spend the money I would just wait for the plow to come and clear the road.

I cant see skis on a 4wd, myself I would think a set of paddles would be the ticket. Then again I live in So Cal so I am probably the last person to talk about running in the snow.

I was curious. was looking to go into the fields and woodlands and see how it handled. But I'm ordering paddles today for now.

i think paddles on all 4 corners would do better then the skis, unless you get a 2wd slash then the skis would be great..

Consider how deep the snow is too. Tires sink, skiis float. Once the front end dives down into the snow (deep),...you ain't going anywhere.

I saw a youtube video. Skiis upfront and large diameter paddles in the back and it was ripping through the fluff!

yes skis float but if the back doesnt too then whats the purpose?

try running normal tires on front and paddles in the back. you will be able to go through so much more than a 2wd with skis. i have tried all 4 paddles and it really makes the motor work hard. so i wouldnt run them with the vxl motor, at least in heavier snow. light snow it will be fine.

That's why I said bigger tires for rear. Gives you more room in the snow to sink and still grip or float on surface. As I said,....youtube.....

Although this Slash seems to be ripping it!

This is an old thread and besides it's always fun to try and be different. I'm not one to follow. Just thought over a year ago it might be worth doing.
