Exclamation Faulty ESC on new Summit

Here it is my video, as you can see it suddenly stop, and a long beep while the throtle is pressed, as soon you release the throtle back to neutral it runs again, Sorry about the video it is my first video and was done with a cell phone.

Guys it is confirmed, the esc is faulty, I tried the summit esc on the merv, and it does the same thing, tried the merv esc on the summit and it runs good. It took me less than a half an hour to do the test, why PeterV is taking so long to report his test.

There are 11 people including myself with the same problem, I emailed traxxas reporting the issues with link to the threads, and video. However will call tomorrow. I think everyone should do the same thing.

    Hello

First try putting fresh batteries in the radio and in your vehicle. Make sure the antenna on your receiver is not cut short, and that it is all the way out to the end of the antenna tube. Make sure the antenna on the radio is up and that it is not damaged. Check the plugs in your receiver to make sure they are secure, that the steering is plugged into channel 1, the ESC is plugged into channel 2 and that none of the wires are pinched frayed or kinked.

Next reset your transmitter and re-program your speed control according to the instructions in your owners manual.

Finally unplug the steering servo from the receiver and see if the ESC programs normally. A shorted servo can cause the system to fail.

If that does not fix the issue you need to send your VXL-3m to us for inspection/repair. There is a 30 day warranty on all Traxxas electronics. Beyond that there is a repair charge of $40 for the VXL-3m plus $5 shipping within the US.

If you have not already registered your vehicle on our web site, please do so at http://www.traxxas.com/register

Once you have registered respond to this e-mail with the vehicles serial number your name, phone number, address and your Zip code. I will generate an RMA number for you to send it in.

    Please make sure to include the following items;

    The vehicles serial number
    Your name
    Your address
    Your phone number
A copy of your original receipt
    A copy of this e-mail.

Here is the service and repair information.. http://www.traxxas.com/support/Warra...ge-Electronics

Same problem here. Waiting on replacement. Called traxxas today to find out what was going on with my ESC and motor. They told me it was taking a little longer than expected due to the christmas rush. They also said they would send some extra parts out for my inconvenience. Thanks Traxxas!

I guess this is just a bad batch of ESCs, it seems alot of people are having this problem.
I'm having the same problem, as well as the occasional shut off of the ESC.

The vxl-3s on my 4x4 pede went into LVC @ 3.85v. They told me to send it back with a discription of the problem. I had a new one in 2 weeks and it's working gr8!

I bought a 1/16 Summit Saturday and I'm having the same problem. I've tried messing with the throttle trim and I'm seeing no improvement. I guess I will be sending mine in too. I've been away from electric for a while and decided to come back after all the hassle of nitro. Guess what I get? lol It's just a toy I guess.

I got my ESC replaced by Traxxas under warranty. It took just about 2 weeks total (me mailing them the ESC, them testing it, them sending me a new one). I had the truck out today in the snow, what a blast it was. The new ESC resolved my issue. Traxxas came through for me!
