    Ipod Touch

Hey guys I sold my YLOD ps3 for $90 and a couple of other things, so now I am wondering what to do with the money! I was thinking about buying a used Ipod Touch on craigslist for around $100. What are some differences between a 2nd and 3rd generation Touch??? Does the 3rd generation have built in speakers? How about jailbreaking, can they both be jailbroken? Could there be anything wrong with a used touch I have to watch out for so I dont get scammed? All sugestions welcome! Thanks!!!

(Yes I know some of you are going to say get some RC related items... lol...But I have wanted an Ipod for quite a while now and with Christmas coming up there will be a lot of choices and maybe I can snatch one fairly cheap.)
So I taped my hamster to the Pede..

I don't know of the differences, but just make sure you have documentation of who you bought it from because stolen ones get sold on craigslist all the time

Nothing. No difference at all. All Apple did was introduce iPod Touch models with a larger storage capacity, so a 2nd and 3rd generation 8GB iPod touch will be the same.

Once upgraded to iOS4, the 2nd gen will not do multitasking. 3rd gen, however, will.

I wouldn't get one, only if I had a lot of spare money... But I don't listen to much music, and like many other things like it, it just becomes one of the things you have... not that special. I found when I got my first hobby grade RC car, I never got tired of it, you just dont, there aren't any limitations. Like in racing games, there are always boundries. And then you get bored...

I actually wanted a laptop when I was 11 (14 now), and I was saving and saving, and then, I recalled memory of a cousin of my Dad's having a couple of RC cars, he let me have a quick go, it was great, so I changed my mind and bought a rc... best decision I could've made... I still have the car, a Duratrax Evader ST Pro. I wanna get a good motor for it, maybe a 13t
    Can you break a Rusty?
    Umm...No...No, you can't.

I would get a new 4th gen unless money is an issue. Some app developers won't allow music to be played in there app. I would get a 3rd gen 32 gb.

My 4th gen 32gb does everything I need it to do and more. The multitasking is so useful, and the cameras take great quality pictures and video. Facetime works flawlessly too.

There are other differences between the 1st gen and 2nd gen, like the bluetooth and GPS were added in. I think maybe the compass too. CPU is faster in the later ones, but if you only use it for an ipod that doesn't matter.

I've got a 1st gen had it since they came out and it works great... you can play music and surf the net or use some applications but most games turn off the music. If you just want a ipod touch any will work but if you can snag a later gen get one.

It is actually up to the app developers whether or not you can listen to music and play games at the same time. Some apps will let you listen to your music while you run the app, some won't. The gen doesn't matter. The multitasking is like having 2 apps running at the same time, like close out of one, open another, switch back to the previous one and it will be in the same spot as it was before. Although, I am not sure all apps will work like that. Multitasking will also play other music apps in the background while you use another app, example being lastfm or pandora, close out of it and the music will keep playing.

I have a 16gig third generation. I just bought a set of Sony blue tooth headphones and they have very good sound. I never liked the external speakers on the I-touch because the sound quality isn't that good.
T-max,Revo,S max, VXL Revo, and A Jato on the way.

Ya, I would never really use the external speakers unless my friends wanted to listen to something. Or if I was playing a game I might use external speakers. I will just go to pawn america or something and see what they have. Then they are guarunteed to work and if they dont I can return it the same day or something hopefully.
