    Stampede VXL to Stampede 4x4

I already have a VXL and was wondering how hard it would be to convert it to 4x4 when the parts come out. I am assuming all i would need is the chassis and driveline componets. Would it be worth it? I don't have $400 to spend on a new ride right now. Wondering what everyones thoughts were. Thanks.

This is the exact same question asked in the 2wd slash forums when the slash 4x4 came out. The answer is the same, you will not be able to convert a 2wd to a 4x4. 99% of the parts are different between the two and two very different designs.

Ok. So the best thing to do is wait awhile and get a 4x4 roller. Thanks.

I think the only parts that are the same are the rear arms, body, motor/esc/servo and the front wheels. Everything else is different.

Not going to happen sorry... I wanted to do the same thing until I learned that pretty much all the parts are different. I would wait for a roller to come out. Even possibly a used roller a little while after the 4x4 has been out.
