Well it was cheaper to get 7 in a set as aposed to 7 individual, the body is beef! It fits good just has to be slid up under the wing a little.

Cannot wait to see what you do with the body paint wise... gonna look sick. if mine were electric (which if i keep having problems im gonna do it) i would get that body, but for now im gonna get the pro-line 08 ford f250 body, i am also getting some masks that look like the metal is torn. my neighbor owns a vinyl company and i used to work for him before i moved, so if i dont like the masks ill just get some from him. this is what the body looks like on a revo, looks sick, and cannot wait to do my design on the one im getting. Its gonna be a main coat of indy silver, and have the designs in metallic black, and prob a few other things in metallic blue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxQPTdKpcoU

bit of a hack job around the motor and where they have had to cut like wheel arches etc.... shame as its a nice body shape. not sure if you already know this, but just in case you dont, run a stanley or hobby knife blade along the line you want to cut, just so it marks the body, you will need to use moderate pressure, then take you scissors and start the cut. once you have started the cut the lexi body will just pull away by hand and follow the original incision made by the hobby knife.

practice on a rubbish bit first so you can get a feel for the pressure needed with the hobby knife, this method will give you nice smooth edges rather than looking cruddy

Insanity I didn't see in your list a brushless conversion kit, or maybe I just overlooked it. As you know I'm working on a revo as well and from the moment I had gotten it I was thinking brushless conversion, but I read that you need like a kit that cost like 150. Are you doing this conversion without that kit?

    post 306 on page 9

]you can get a 40 doller motor mount from rc-monster, and a 15 dollar batt tray from tekno rc. and then just the motor and esc stuff, no need for expensive tekno conversion kit

It took some modding of the mount and a hpi flux can to get in. Buddy let me borrow his hpi flux 2200kv motor and esc to test it. It flat out ripps with it locked into second, 38t spur and, a 13t pinion. All was grand until I stripped my spur gear the only part I didn't bring...

They already started pulling free. I found a calculator and I have the potential to go about 55mph with a 13t pinion 36t spur 2650kv motor and 4s. I am going to have to drop to 500k in the center diff the front tires skitter across the ground.

Insanity I'm more than interested in hearing your review of the ******* Combo you've ordered. I'm looking at the exact same motor/esc combo and like you I've read quite positive reviews provided people kept it 4S and under. Sorry to hear about the gears getting chewed, hope you get that sorted out and with the kind of power these brushless motors put out going steel is definitely a positive.

Excellent, I've been looking at the Mamba Monster as well and at just under 250 on the bay it's a fairly decent price for the combo. I may just be swayed to put up the hard dollars up front rather than hope for the best on a "sub par" motor/esc combo. I'll wait til after you've done your review before I put down the cash.

Is it better when locked into second? Why? It seems like you could have launch and top end with both gears.

With second locked out with brushless you can use the motor for reverse and brakes.

Ooooooh, I see. If reverse still wasnt that big a deal to a person, do you think braking with the tranny would keep temps lower than braking with the motor? Have you tried running with both gears intact? I ask because I believe I'm going brushless when the 3.3 kicks it. This is my second nitro truck and im sick of tuning at this point. I enjoy the sound and smell and tinkering but sometimes I just want to play.

I don’t know if it would keep temps lower. I locked it into second off the bat so no idea. I decided that since I went brushless I would have all the features of brushless F/R/B off the motor like any other electric kit. I got one of oomps (one left as of now unles he sold that in the last few days) few remaining lock outs but it can be done for free with the second gear clutch, 3 screws and some dremeling.

I think the next step is taping the foam, I'm going to be giving it a try, the glue made a big difference, the trenchers are the last set to mess with. My buddy at the Hs said there is firmer foam too, said it helps. I don't want to jinx myself but right now all four trucks are running like tops. Switching back to 20 % was the best thing I've done in a while, plus I sealed up all my exhust parts and found a bad o ring on a tank, one tiny leak will flawk up the whole the whole process. Good luck bro.

yea Merv they were blowing out the sides of the bead, screws were good too, I just beat this stuff to hard, I may have to change my driving style.... NOT I'll always come up with a way to make it better and stronger, If I can't beat them I'll park em. got to tell you something I put the XL into a pine tree full tilt, tore the bark off the tree, you know what I broke, nothing, bent a lower plastic a arm where the pin goes though, pulled the pin, bent the plastic part back into position and off and running. got to give it credit, tough muther.
