I dig it. What size bar did you use? Another helpful tip for ya is to use brakeline for alot of your bracing. Short runs diving into nodes dont need to be heavy solid rod. Any plans for some body panels?

Brake line and some smaller rod for sure. That was like 3/16.I salvaged it off of a broken ......thing.I have no idea what it was but I took the metal rods.it is mostly pieces braced together and cleaned up with the grinder and wire wheel.working on a vid of the test run.

Awesome video. Now that is some nice crawling. Most summit owners on youtube portray crawling as reaching a difficult empass and solving it with extra wheel spinning, full throttle and letting the truck land where it may. No finess, no controll. Even more impressive is the fact that your doing it with the stock EVX2. Mad props.

Anothet great video. Your Summit is always unique with the bodies you run and your chewed up Trenchers. I have watched yours and Nostopins vids many times and have enjoyed them all. The cage is cool. It should help in keeping the c.g. low. Will you be adding some panels to give the electronics some extra protection? Keep the videos coming.

Love the video. That was an impressive climb at the end. If I could weld I would be making a cage asap, looks awesome.

Thanks guys it's brazed.oxygen and map gas mix.Basically larger scale soldering.a welder would be nice.
Tack everything then braze it to finish it
It won't really take panels.the next one
Will be a planned out one....I think lol
Need to make some bending jigs
And a much bigger bottle of oxygen
    Uses it up pretty quick.

And my high tec tools that I used

And for thinking times(thanks server power supply)

Real nice cage jamann and your first try at it...WOW. If you are planing on doing another one I would be interested is buying this one, just drop me a IM if you like that idea and would save me from buying all the equipment to try and make my own. Can't believe that is your first try, must have some welding experience.

Nice job bud!!!! Looks awesome!! I really like bends you made over the front tires and the angle to put on the front bumper. Looks very realistic!!

I've been thinking about taking a stab at one for sometime now, just haven’t made the plunge. I have a bunch of 3/16 stainless steel tubing lying around and was thinking of using that. It was used for high pressure oil lines. It bends pretty easy, very strong and still light weight.

If it turns out okay I will post some pic’s…….if not we’ll just say it never happened. LOL

LOL my past work was not way out of my comfort zone, the cage work is something I know nothing about, infact my soldering is still borderline and have to really watch it or get the wring to hot and burn something up.

Why I have delayed doing it so far, and plus no equipment at all to do that kind of thing with/on. Am sure wife would draw the line for me doing that downstairs, and still unable to stand very long especially on concrete floors. Guess it gets put on the back shelf for a while.

You sure did a great job on your first try

Very nice! Isn't it funny how much you rush through the first one? So many things I wish I would have done differently, but all I could think about was getting paint on it and running it . I've since started a new one, and I'm really......really taking my time and making sure it's right before paint.
