Traxxas BND... anyone think its time?

I think its about time traxxas started selling their vehicles without a transmitter. Part of the draw of the Link radio system is that it can automatically memorize 10 models and settings. But every truck comes with a new transmitter and they arent worth anything to sell right now. Selling the trucks without a transmitter for $30 less would be a great way to capitalize on the Link technology.

Or maybe a trade in program where the radio is in a sealed box inside the new vehicle packaging and if you send the still sealed transmitter back to traxxas with a proof of purchase you get a $30 parts credit or something. That way the radio is still unused and the buyer gets some spare parts... im just brainstorming.

    What do you guys think?

That might be a good idea. I have 3 traxxas trucks and all of them are on the same 2.4 GHz radio so I have 3 radios system I am not using and 1 has never been used.
I wanted to put a really cool signature but I ran

On the other side, what about those that have multiple trucks and want to lend one to a friend to drive? Certainly you cannot share a tx.

It's a great idea. I'd also like a radio with an easier to navigate menu screen. But please don't negate all the receivers in the existing cars we have like some of the "top tier" radio mfrs.'s do when they bring out a new transmitter.

I think it is a great idea. The only issue will be that some cars will come with either 2, 3, or 4 channel radios. If you buy a mini-revo and then a BND Summit, you would be out of luck!

It is a good idea for traxxas to sell w/o a radio. However, Traxxas's big selling point is the RTR. A lot of beginer's get into the hobby with a traxxas product, who know nothing about radio's

I'd prefer a BND style package, I already have two Link Radios.

Im glad to see this topic generating some thoughts. Hopefully traxxas is listening. I think this would also help keep the price of used Link Transmitters up... right now, a link TX is worth next to nothing because there are so many of them out there...
