Needle question

Why is it that when I barely touch (literally) my low speed needle the engine dies.

My engine is running well, and I usually only tune for weather, etc with the high needle, and only tiny increments at that.

But my low end needle seems very loose and wont hold a tune. Should I thread lock it?

It's probably the main bearing....the motor is shot.
