I am looking for any input on replacing the spring, I have rewound one several times,
always a Pain, but is there a genuine
help guide or FAQ somewhere for this?
I had one break on the 2nd use, So they sent me a new spring, Which I appreciate. Its a tough call--- The LHS sells the whole unit for 16.99. Lots of effort to justify Not-spending that small amount.
Dude when you rewind one be freakin careful of the spring in there they fire off like a rocket
u don't need o new one!!!!!!!
when u rewind the spring u out the bend on the end of it right. then heat the bit u bend real hot with a lighter or somethin and then cool it really quick in a bowl of cold water this will stop the spring breaking.
Rewinding a starter is not that hard. Here check this little photo spread that I did covering the subject.
Let me know if it helps you out.
excuse me while I pass some gas
