woohoo, i had my first real race with my ruslter tonite. between rain and other things i havent really got to race the first few weeks. i actually did ok! i normally have the batteries in the front, and i tried putting the in the back for the first heat...thats a bad plan. i had the worst push ever, started 5th and finished 4th because i was the last one running....put them back to the front for the second, and it helped sooo much..ended up third in that one with average laptimes almost exactly half of the first heat. half!! then in the main we started 10 cars...with 1 minute to go i was 3rd, but the leader nailed me while he was lapping me and flipped me...and a napping marshall didnt flip me over for quite a while...1 lap later i was out of fuel, ended up 5th. had i not run out of fuel, i'd say i'd have been third, as i was 2 laps ahead of 4th. but oh well!
now my question.....why am i running out of fuel when i flip? the tank seems to not leak if i flip it at idle, but when i rev it it spits serious gas out the pipe. i ran out twice, once in the main and once in heat 1 (but got it back out to finish the first heat). my first though was too short of a pressure tube(thus excessive tank pressure?), so i put a longer coiled one on it....and i did flip once in the second heat and didnt run out...but i was righted within 5 seconds. when i sit longer i have to rev it to keep it running....and then i run the tank dry. any ideas?
