    Question How did this happen??

I got my new feul ine and exaust tip on and i took it out to run it. Of coarse it sounded differnt but it was reving too soon. Well ididnt give it ne thought, i figured it was just running a lil lean, but i was seeing smoke still and then i thought maybe the extender was just messing wiht the sound. Well then all of a sudded the car stoped moving and it was reving REAL high. I was scared out of my pants running to the truck and riping he body off to shut it down. After i shut it down i was hearing a whining sound from the motor and the cluth bell gear had lost mesh with the spur gear and caused it stop moving! I looked at the spur gear and the break lever that runs over the spur had been touching and rounded off the teeth. Ne one know how th get that bar to stay off the gear? Youc cant push it up but it just falls back down on the gear.

But then when i got to looking at the spur, I bent it! and it would mesh at times and then it would miss it again. Well after i pulled the spur off and looked at it. (you arent going to belive this) the metal plates that are on either side of the gear were melted to the gear! and after PRYED them off, the lil red weights that goed inside it. They were pushed towards the center of the gear like the were going to go out the midde and plastic molded around them!!!! Good god my motor has some power to pull itself out of a bind and do that.
I will be going to the hobbie shop sometime to see about the wieghts and the gear and new metal pieces.

Any help on the break bar thta goes over the sput is greatly appreciated.
    thanks

I use a small piece of fuel line to hole it up, about ½”. Remove the brake lever and slid it on. Bending the brake lever up some with needle nose pliers helps too.

If the slipper clutch is too loose, the spur gear will melt that sound like what happened.

They aren't weights, they are friction pegs. You can use 3mm BBs in it to get a better effect from the slipper.

...Okay... The "little red weights" are slipper pegs- I imagine what happened was you had your slipper-clutch assembled wrong, and when one of the friction disc's slipped into place it made the assembly loose, which I'm guessing is what caused them to overheat and melt the plastic. The spur gear was stripped? No biggie, but I bet money it wasn't the brake linkage that did it. Cheap fix, all the parts shoube around 10 bucks or so.

The slipper pegs may have been worn out if the tension spring was tightened all the way. Just rebuild the slipper clutch system or you could try the RRP slipper pads.
