    Next Mod.......

What should be my next mod?

    i have

    traxxas topend pipe
    pro.15
    slipper clutch
    rd shock tower
    2055 servo (steering)
    new bearings

i was thinking new shocks because mine are junk or something along the lines of aluminum hexes

You know you've got it bad when....

-10-20% of your blood is Nitro,
-you love the taste of dirt in the morning,
-your feet now have foam inserts,
-your joints are screws and nuts.

A fuel filter, if you don't have one, would be a good idea. Shocks would also be good.

uh pede, you do know failsafe and throttle return spring do the same thing right? I'm getting tired of you people who don't know what to put on your cars and trucks..... I recomend the traxxas alluminum pre-assembled ultra shocks with trinity 40wt and losi springs, then get a boost bottle and change your steering servo, get niMH battery packs (w/ niMH switch), get a graphite upper deck and a 360 pipe kit (and get a Cvec rear exaust system after that, if I didn't say sepperatly I would get flamed again ), get rd alluminum shock towers and arms(if you already have alluminum shock towers you neeed the 360 rear shock tower now), get yourself a trinity picco, a failsafe "or" throttle return spring, I would recomend porting the new engine but thats just me, then get your self driving experience for a while and then get a new body, alluminum lucknuts and knockoffs(just for show), an alluminum set of Road Runner rims, and a new set of tires(possibly rear/M3 compound dirt paws and front/M2 compound dirt claws, then you could get your DC-RC braided fuel lines, and that is about all I could tell you is good to get right now(thank god)
Meow.... No kitty this is my nitro sport!!!

    Accually,they do different things!
A fail safe will return the servo to the desired position, if the power level drops, you run out of range, or encounter radio interfearance.
A throttle return spring will close the carb, if your batteries get disconnected, if the power level drops, if the switch gets knocked off, or if you run out of range.

If you only have a fail-safe, and the power gets cut (betteries disconnected, switch off), it won't do anything to your car (it will stay at the last set servo positions, possibly wot).

    The ultra shocks are plastic...

You should get a fuel filter. The most important hop-up for nitro trucks.
Then, get a different header (the MIP touring header, or the Traxxas perfect fit header).
I love the smell of nitro fumes in the morning!

and anyway how did I have a bad attitude? I corrected him because I meant(Tazz)that they both were for the same purpose, and I am getting a little agrivated because people need to ask somebody else what to get for their own car or truck. so who had the attitude NooB

But they don't work the same way, or for the same reasons. Yes, they will both help prevent crashes, but a fail safe will do you no good if the power to the model gets cut, but a throttle return spring won't help you when you encounter radio interfearance.

And I agree... It's their car, they should know what to get for it.

Here's an interesting point on shocks. I planned on doing my shocks after most other changes done but needed to sooner. 60 wt oil and stiffer springs on the stock shocks are working so far. Just no "eye candy".

thanks for explaining to nitro kun, for me tazz it seems as he knows it all, so if he does well let him have a throttle return spring and thats it because hey! they do the same thing right!.lol

Cool and if you have more to say...

and if I can't correct myself enough I said for the same purpose tazz, I meant by that they are meant to save your car if the radio has a problem you are right by the fact they have specific purposes but I meant they are supposed to save your car. and you are right about the shocks I mixed up the names when I looked at them and I wrote the wrong thing so thank you for correcting me, and pede what is your problem!!! this is not a place to fight so if you want to fight go to indiana and find me! I'm not gonna get kicked off the forum because some immature person decided to pick a fight.
