    CVD's

Ok I know it sounds like a rookie question but I am a rookie to the nitro pede. I was wondering if the mip cvd's are really worth the purchase. I had a pede before but never bought them because they are said to limit suspension travel and i heard some people having problems with them. I was wondering what comments you had about the cvds for the nitro pede cvds. Arw they worth the 40 dollars or should I stick with the standard sliders for now. I am planning on many aluminum upgrades for my truck and I was wondering should I buy them now or later.

    Thanks. . . Al

I wouldn't spend the money on the CVD's unless you are constantly breaking the stub axles. The steel output yokes would be a better idea in my opinion.

    Cool

Stay with the plastic shafts and get the steel output yokes. You'll be much happier.

I thought so, I have already installed steel uutput yokes. I had a set already so I installed them before my first run. I am not a fan of the plastic white yokes. Not only are they a pain to take off but they looks really bad when they get dirt on them.

I have the cvds and they were worth every cent..I advise them, before hand i had problems with the stock ones breaking, and falling off..Now no problems, with better traction...I love them..

I would'nt get them unless you're getting a more powerful engine.

And the award goes to batpede. I am running a fairly powerful engine. The guy I traded with included 3 engines and one is ported and polished. I also run the cvec exhaust and I have already twisted the little clip that holds the clutchbell on. So I am decapitated for the night but I am going to make a strong run tommorrow. My plans are to make an insane truck, I don't know whether to go .21 or .71. I know both are really a project but I want something that hasn't been done too much. And you would have to admit the crazy fool to stuff a 70 in a pede would be kinds cool. Be kinda hard on the trany but oh the power and torque.

So it was a trick question then, everyone was assuming you had a stock TRX engine. If you already knew the answer to your question, then why did you post??

Sorry for seeming to be angry, but "the award" should go to everyone who tried to help you - not the guy who gave you the answer you wanted to hear - nothing against you batpede - and nothing against you either 4wdpedeMan, you should have provided more info on your setup for more realistic answers.

I asked the question because I am not going to be running the ported engine for long. I am racing it in the nitro pede class and they will not allow my ported engine. Thats why I asked the question. But i know where you are coming from on that one. My plans for big engine are still on though. The sound of a big block but a friend said why not go 4 stroke? I dont know I can't think of an answer.

If you go with a "big block" or other insane engine, the CVD's might be the least of your worries. The stock gears and diff. won't be very reliable - you'll have to look into more aftermarket upgrades. But heck, it's only money - and you only live once! Post some pix when you're done! (I would LOVE to see a 4 stroke 'pede)

I would really like to see a 4stroke pede too, but what really makes me thing is could you shove a .70 or the new .90 in a pede. It would pull wheelies and then roast the gears but ohhhhhhhhhh.
