First car... would appreciate ANY help

ok... i just got my 4-tec and wanna make it powerfull.. i want to have torque not speed. what should i get? i was thinking bout a 13-turn motor, what esc should i get? i want reverse to but i dun wanan spent that much. this is my first car, so i need a lot of help thanks to all for help.

Want torque? You will notice that most motors also have a second number (13x2,14x3, etc.)The higher the second number is, the more torque it produces. I f your looking to get more power off the line, lower your gearing. switch from the 3:1 to something lower like 2.75:1 or the like. As for ESC's, reverse isnt very important, as most tracks dont allow it. you will also notice that reversable esc's are 40-60 dollars more than one ways. a one way will work just fine. If you want a speed contrl for ultra cheap, get the duratrax spike. Its really inexpensive, easy to install, and works fine for general racing/ cruising purposes.

Also the more turns a motor has the more torque it has. Be careful the more turns the slower your notor is.

if you want torque, get a 17 modified and get a 24 tooth pinion and an 87 tooth spur. this'll give you loads of torque, i use this when i used to have tug-a-wars with my mates at racing, we put both cars together (nose to nose) and then put on full throttal, and push each other, its fun!

i you dont want to spend much money, i would say get a druatrax streat cause it handles low turns and really inexpensive, i would also get a 15turn, i would suggest monsters of touring or the 14 turn tower hobbies cause their the cheapest in price, i you want a step up without spending much i would say get a speed gems. for torque just remember gear it low
