    Question 3000 mah battery

I am getting tired of my 1500 mah battery packs only lasting 4 or 5 minutes and want to get a 3000 mah battery. Will a cheap peak charger work on a 3000 battery like a pirahna or a dynamite peak charger. I don't want to spend much on a charger and want good run times. Please tell me if you need a high quality charger or use a cheap one as I said. Plus my friend went to hooby town and they said a 3000 battery only last a few runs then you should throw it away. Is this true or does the battery last as long as a 1500 does?

The guys at your LHS should be smacked. 3000mah batteries will last just as long as nicads with a little extra care. I know you don't want to hear it, BUT...

To get maximum performance and longevity out of your 3000's, you'll need a better charger. The peak detection circuitry on the cheaper chargers are not accurate enough to reliably peak the 3000 packs - and they DON'T like to be over-charged. I also remember something about them needing to be stored with a partial charge or something.

    Statman is right!
if i was you i would wait a year untill the 4000mah batts come out, then the 3000's will be really cheap! (that is what i am doing) i got my 2000mah packs when they first came out, and they cost £35 each, and now you can get them for £20!!!!!!!
