I have a used 4-tec that I bought of a friend and it gets about 3 minutes runtime with a rooster speed control and a 15 turn speedgems. Does that sound right at all and the gering is 21:84. My dad got the pinion so that is why it is a 21 tooth.
first of all what kind of pack are you running with,, if you have a low power pack, then that is the reason,, second it may just be your gearing,,, if you can go back to the stock gearing,, then lower your spur if you want more speed,,,, second you may want to invest in a 2200 or 2400 pack... hope this works for you!!!
thanks for the tips I will have to try that out.
your gearing is fine, if you haven't done so get some bearings. That is the first hop up to get for any car if they didn't come with it. Next thing to do is look at the battery, yea a 2000 pack and even a 1700 pack should get more than 3min as long as they are charged full, I would estimate with a 15t motor, bearings all around, a fully charged 2000 pack should give you about 6+ minutes of run time with the current pinion/spur ratio you are running.
Ya ain't driving till ya break it
