    help, shaft problem

    whenever i go to start my truck the 1 way will slip
    so i take it off to clean it and the shaft has grease all over it, fuel grease or somethin i dunno wuts on the shaft, wut ever it is its black
    wuts causing this? plese help

    oil from the gas, just clean it off.

    it's the oil from the fuel. you might have a bad backplate bushing.
    Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

    but its got the stuff on it after every run, whats the part # for the backplate bushing
    i might try that

    Here's my theory on the really dark oil. I think it seeps down from the EZ STart housing. The have it heavily greased from the factory. When I used my EZ Start I found the same stuff on my shaft.

    I opened up the EZ Start and there was tons more grease in that thing than needed. I took out some of the excess grease and never had the problem with the dark stuff again.

    no pokey, i dont think its that because i recently bought a pull start and it still does it
