Really depends on what you want to do with it and how much experience you have. I have a great deal of experience with both cars (I drive a 4-Tec, my brother drives a TC3).

Do you plan to race or just bash around? What are your expectations for the car? Each car has it's good and bad points - which one is *best* depends on what YOU want to do with it...

If you plan to race the car competitively, and want a car that will hang with the best out of the box, I suggest you get the TC3. It's light, stiff, well designed, easy to work on, easy to adjust, and handles great out of the box.

Downside? The TC3 does not include radio gear, servos, a motor, or a speed control. If you buy the Team kit it doesn't come with a body. The parts have no flex in them - if you have a hard hit stuff's gonna break. While that kind of thing is acceptable on the racetrack, it sucks when you're driving in front of your house.

If you plan on bashing around, I suggest the 4-Tec. It's pretty tough, if you hit stuff parts don't break as easily, comes with a radio, motor and a mechanical speed control, fairly adjustable suspension, good solid design, built like a tank (weighs like one).

Downsides? Not many if you're just messing around, except the stock motor and speed control aren't that fast, doesn't have ball bearings. If you plan on racing you'll need an ESC, a new motor, and ballbearings at a minimum. If you want to race and be competitive, you're going to have to shell out extra $$$ to make it go fast. It can be done (several here have done it) - but it's gonna cost you.

i have a 4-tec and it is tuned up, and it beats all the team accosiated TC3's, so the choise is really yours, if money is no object then i would go for the TC3 and really tune it up! But if you are on a budget get the 4-tec!!!!

    hope this helps!

I also agree with the others. I have both the tc3 and the 4-tec, but on the racetrack if thats what your planning to do, the tc3 will most likely outperform the 4tec unless you do some heavy tuning of the 4tec.

i have a 4-tec, and it is really tuned up to the max!
It cost quite a bit though, for example!

    pro-ball diffs x2 =£50 each
schumacher purple alloy shocks =£35 pair
    that is all ready £270
thats not including the ballraces and there is more!
