I am ready to race!
Man I am having so much fun racing the 4-tec. No one expects a Traxxas to do well. Until they saw me
Has any one else had trouble with theire drag link wire getting bent?

Ditch the wire draglink. Get a couple extra ballends and a titanium turnbuckle. You'll probably need to bevel the bottom corner of the front diff housing or the new draglink will hit it.
This modification will help tighten up the steering and is much stronger than that piece of wire.

Not sure I know what you guys are talking about? I am in the process of getting my 4-tec race ready for stock class. Please let me know what a "wire drag link" is so I can eliminate a problem before it happens. Thanks

Dirtovald, Basically a piece of wire to connect the front left steering to the right.
4-tecptr- I have had my 4-tec for two years now, have never seen or heard one getting bent. I assume you had a wreck and wedged your front end into something? If so, your are lucky that is all that broke. I did the same thing that Scat has done, but I know that that area is stronger so if something is going to give, it won't be the cheaper wire draglink

Ya ain't driving till ya break it

Thanks, I know what part you are talking about now. I can see the pros and cons to this modification. Looks like a titanium drag link would be the perfect answer.

You can also use the bellcranks and tie-rod assembly from the Nitro 4-TEC in place of the stock Electric bellcrank//wire drag-link assembly.
I would also recommend using ball bearings in the bellcranks to eliminate steering slop.
