if I should buy a 4-tec
I`m looking around and I dont know that to buy. I like street car that go fast. I dont know what to go with nitro or electrice.
If you are just starting out, electric is the way to go. While electric cars are not as fast as nitro powered cars, they are easier to work on and require less maintenance on your part. Since they are not as fast as nitro, they are easier to control for someone just starting the hobby.
Buying a nitro car for your first RC would be like turning 16, getting your drivers liscence and then hopping in say an '89 Porsche 911 Turbo and driving flat out through the city - it's a recipe for disaster. You lack experience, young grasshopper. You are not yet skilled enough to handle the speed or handling of the car.
Nitro also has an added element - engine maintenance. You have to break in the engine, tune the engine, clean the engine, tune the engine, etc... If you don't know what you're doing, it's VERY easy to burn up a motor by tuning it incorrectly - an expensive mistake.
For a first car, the 4-Tec is a good choice. The car is already built and includes the radio, motor, and a speed control - all you need are a battery (or two) and a charger. Talk to the guys at your local hobby shop - they'll get you pointed in the right direction.
I agree with SCATMAN. Electric is definitely the way to go if you're just starting out. Frustration is the last thing you need when starting out in RC.
Get the electric, like the other guys said, and get an ESC and ball bearings to go with it. You'll be happy.
