Get some spare glow plugs, lotsa fuel, EXTRA TIRES!!!! , ummmm.........another body cuz the look cool, and probably a new pipe and a starter box cuz the EZ start gets real annoying after a while cuz it slips every time you try it after 2 months.

The glow plug ignites the fuel to start the truck and also to keep the piston moving...Fuel enters the Carb then goes into the engine when the crank turns it pushes fuel up into the combustion chamber the the cycle starts overe again

hey tazz07 can you explain more about the sliping thing. i dont get what slips. thank you.
also the spare glow plugs wil be needed. see they start the engine but also keep it running. if have dirt or rust on the coils it will be harder and lake longer for the engine to do its thing.the dirt wil also keep the fuel from exploding and therefor stall youre enigne

    Talking EZ START SOLUTION

ALL OF THE POEPLE I KNOW AND DRIVE WITH. UESED A HACK SAW AND MADE A GROOVE IN THE EASY START WHEN YOU PUT IT ON LEAVES A LITTLE HOLE AND WHEN IT STARTS SLIPPING USE BRAKE CLEANER OR CARB CLEANER USE THE LITTLE STRAW THING AND STICK IT IN THE HOLE AND BLOW THE FLUID IN THERE GOES OUT THE OTHER SIDE YOU WONT HAVE THOSE STARTING PROBLEMS.

    glow plugs

glow plugs only start the engine...unless you run some other kind of "nitro"
i would get extra plugs, batteries, and fuel. shock oil, after run oil, tires(if you get a sport or a rustler)youll need them soon), and save something for when you break a chassis part, itll happen sooner than you think.
    about the fumes and all...

i run my nitros in the basement during the wee hours...

    40$

if youre getting a nitro sport, spend the extra 30-50$ on a rustler.
youll be much happier not having to spend the extra time and @200$ to upgrade it to a rustler.
it will be easier to tune tho, having the sport.

I will recomend a glo starter. It will save you head aches down the road. The next thing would probably be tires Dirt hawgs or dirt works.
If all else fails CLEAN it.

This is all you need for the first year
    1. all you need is the charger and the battery.
    2. you also need 12 double A batterys.
    3. SOME glow plugs. Four or three will be perfect.
    4. You need gas. get alittle 10% than buy some 20%, but don't buy to much or it will go bad. Buy only enough for about 2 months.
    5. You also need a fuel bottle.

*****! look whos talking. ive been into this sport for 5 years and have 5 cars. looks like the best you can do is buy a used 70 dollar truck. how many lawns did it take ya to save up for that. and since you know so much what does a glow plug with a black bottom mean about the mixture? hmm? hmm?

    you

    take it easy guys.
    anyways...

glow plugs dont just start an engine--they keep it running. during the start the glow plug is lit, once the engine catches the explosion of fuel air in the cylinder keeps the plug "glowing", if a plug fails while your truck is running then it WILL stall--nothing to induce combustion.

i highly recommend red alert or blue thunder 20%. i ran them in my sport and they provide good power plus lubrication. i recently bought some Traxxas Top Fuel and it made my truck sound and run like a pansy compared to red alert or blue thunder. and try to never switch the amount of nitro you run. if you break in with 20% then run 20%, however, it is safe to switch nitro percentages after a rebuild, since you have to re-break it in.

the Nitro Sport does come w/ the rec. battery holder.

as for the slippage they talked about, they are referring to the one way bearing. the EZ-Start motor spins a shaft connected to the crankshaft to turn the engine over--as u run your truck fuel accumulates on the starter shaft and causes it to slip when you press the starter and can't turn the motor over. drilling a hole in it and givin it a shot of denatured alcohol works great.

they said to get a starter box to solve the ez-start slippage problem, you set your truck on the box and right where the flywheel is exposed the box has a wheel that spins it. so it turns the flywheel instead of the crankshaft to start the engine. no ez-start needed.

and finally, no glo plug heater/starter is necessary when you use the ez-start. there is a blue wire that sends power from your 7.2v to the glo plug to heat it for starting.

here's what i think you should get:
    1. the nitro sport
    2. 2 extra glo plugs
    3. 1 gallon of red alert or blue thunder 20%
    4. 12 AA batts
    5. a fuel bottle

just get what is needed to get the truck running...try it out before you go and buy all the hop-ups. if you really get into it--get new bodies and tires and pipes and...........yeah.

    hope i got it all
    good luck
