to be truthful, there is no one best engine. it all comes down to what you can afford and proven reliabilty over the years. these are a few of the brands that have been proven over the years-O.S. RB concept, picco and novarossi. there are others like fantom that just came out but is not really proven yet.

When I installed the OS CVR I only had to cut the midle of the engine mount. everything else worked perfectly, You need to get the short shaft version, unless you have a ofna power clutch like i have that you will need the standard version.

nf2_4-tec said something that I like to point out. (and I point this out frequently)

The os non pullstart .12 and .15 engines fit perfectly with NO mods. However you get a pullstart car and you'll have to do some minor mods to the chassis.

I've pointed out where the chassis would be modified in the for the pull start in these pictures and the engine mount. This is clearance for the pullstart only, not the engine (it fits fine)

YEs I know, I bought the chassis for parts and the guy had it in backwards. I used it since it was easier to take the pictures. thanks though. :-)

    WEll,
Traxxas recommends a Novarossi. I would recommend an XTM! They come with .95 hp, i added a slide carb to mine and should be getting up in the 1.1 hp range with a $74 engine
