steered away from nitro...by a gt...

so i got a gt for christmas...i was so happy about it broke in in christmas day and shut it down for the day next day i drove it around for awile and the rear bulkhead broke sending my doggy to god knows where. i go to lhs get the parts get 1 consecutive taank through it.suprised?i was. then i drove again.. frikkin bulkhead agin sending my dog to outerspace. then got the parts and tried to start again. oneway slipped pullstartstring pulled out the pull starter over and over. got the drill out and it took forever to get the stupid thing to start in 60 degree weather tweakin with the needles. but finally started and got thru 1 more tank.suprised again?i was. the tank after that the thing went wide open. luckily my dad had ahold of it. i took the filter off the carb was shut put my finger over carb hole and it didnt turn off... cr@p an air leak (knowledge from weedeater engines) so the next day i take the truck to my lhs. i wanted it gone so bad i traded it for an hpi pro2 which is faster. i luved nitroo but are nr's that high maintnance cause if they are im stickin to electric. i want to leave it stock. i dont mean to aggravate gt owners but the rtr is a piece i shoulda listened to yo guys. sorry

jft, i thought you saaid i would have fun with it? wwhatta waist

Why did you buy a GT?
    Hopefully it wasn't the RTR...
If it was the RTR, they you'll be extremely pleased with how much better the NR is...
I have only broken 2 pieces... an a-arm, and some rod ends... (no bulkheads or shock towers broke)
I love the smell of nitro fumes in the morning!

The engine is very reliable once it is broken in properly...

sorry u had a bad experience but i said over and over and over if it was between the rtr's i'd get the NR. yes the stock bulkhead on the gt is a little weak but every car has a weak point. i haven't had a problem with my bulkheads yet but replaced them with RPM's anyways. the team and and factory versions r way better than the rtr because the come with cvd's better shocks, and cabon fiber shocker towers...mostly better cuz u can pick u'r own engine. i say u'd be better off puttin in the TRX engine in a rtr gt than using the weak associated one.

    Awww, come on guys.....

    ANY engine can give trouble.
I have personally gone through half a tank of fuel with my rustler just trying to get it started. That's not to say that it does that every time, it certainly doesn't - just a once-off.

There are poorly designed, or perhaps under-engineered components in most R/C stuff, nothing is absolutely bullet-proof.

Take the Nitro Sport - a worse steering mechanism couldn't be found could it ? Mine is sure a pile of crud. First off it starts out stripping gears in the servo, replace the servo with a metal geared one and now it strips the teeth out of the adapter that goes into the servo-saver. What a great mechanism that is. And I do not drive mine recklessly. I'm not a kid who has no concept of the value of items and the cost to repair said items.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth (for now).

    Regards,
    Brad.
