I'm 1 month into RCs. I have a 4TecNitro and I just can't seem to get the idling tuned properly. It seems to idle very fast. When I turn the idle needle counter-clockwise to reduce the idle, It appears to still be too fast. Is fast idling normal for 4Tecs?
Thanks for your help!
THEY SET THE IDLE FAST FROM THE FACTORY SO WHEN YOU BREAK IT IN IT WILL NOT DIE ON YOU
IF YOU BACK THE IDLE SCREW OUT ENOUGH IT WILL
IDLE PROPERLY AND IF YOU ADJUST YOUR LOW SPEED NEEDLE TO MAKE IT MORE LEAN YOU WILL PROBLEY HAVE TO IDLE IT DOWN SOMEMORE.LOOK IN YOUR MANUAL TO SEE THE PROPER CARB SETTINGS
I THINK IT IS 1MM TO 1.5MM LOOK AT THE PICTURE DISCRIPTION THEY GIVE. BUT I GOT MINE
TO IDLE DOWN.
Trax Rustler - How many turns out can I adjust the idle as I lean out the low end mixture? At "your" set idle speed, does the idle still seem fast?
IF YOU NOTICE WHEN YOU TURN YOUR LOW SPEED NEEDLE LEAN IT OUT THE CAR WILL IDLE UP AFTER DOING THIS GO TO YOUR IDLE SCREW AND
MAKE YOUR ADJUSTMENT THE CAR WILL IDLE PRETTY LOUD BUT AS LONG AS IT IS NOT MOVING
YOU SHOULD BE OKAY ALSO CHEACK YOUR TROTTLE
CONTROL ON YOUR RADIO.TAKE OFF YOUR AIR FILTER AND SEE HOW MUCH OF A GAP YOU HAVE
FROM YOUR THROTTLE BEING FULLY CLOSED. GO TO
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PART OF THIS SITE AND
GO TO PRO 15 BREAK IN AND LOOK THERE.
HOPE THIS HELPS IF NOT WE WILL TRY SOMETHING
Don't take off the air filter while its running though!
