Just wondering if anyone has taken the Rally off road. Any mods to the suspension and tires to make it good to go? I have been curious to see this thing on groomed dirt, like a baseball field on clay. Let us know!

I've had mine on cinder trails, and it worked pretty well. I put some preload into the shocks to get more ride height, and put a set of Tamiya rally wheels with rally block tires on it.
I can't see it having any trouble on a baseball infield with offroad tires.

I'm going to bolt my Slash OEM wheels/tires on and hit the baseball diamond. If they work well, I'll get another set of them. They are exactly the same size as the stock tires.
Nice, can you take any video or pictures. I would be curious to see the performance on dirt. I am going to do it when I get my Ken Block rally.Originally Posted by BAC5.2

Pictures of the slash tires mounted would be awesome
fine fine, let me charge up a few packs and see if I can hit the diamond later this week. I might even do some on-car footage with the GoProHD.
Lol excellent, thank you.Originally Posted by BAC5.2

On the Rally Picture thread, Snoop has posted a couple of pics and a vid of a guy who rans his on a dirt track. Might be worth a look.

I wonder the difference between the one snoop posted and yours off road. BAC yours is more how the rally originally sits and snoops is lifted. I wonder if snoops would roll more and yours would power through turns?

Well, that was lame.
I think the outer sidewalls are too soft with the Slash tires and it just digs in and rolls over. No fun. Not even worth posting pics or video. The baseball diamond is inaccessible, so no good drifting off-road footage. I just messed around in the parking lot and rolled it over the smallest imperfections. I lost 3 body clips and scratched the body up. Boring, really.
I guess we really need sway bars... if they help on a small car like these.
If it's griproll, then even sway bars might not work.
I took mine out on a baseball field this morning before work. I didn't have much time, so I just attached the camera to my radio, so the video is not the best, but you can see that the car does just fine in the dirt.
I put some Tamiya Rally car wheels and Rally block tires on it, as well as added some preload to the shocks to get more ride height. I had just the stock battery in it.
Here's a couple of pics, and a little video.

that's a sweet video. just ordered a set of those tires the other day so it's nice to see they do pretty well. did you just jack up the body post or is there preload in there to raise the chassis?
Very good camera work considering the cam is on your TX!!
Did you take any pics with the shell off after your off road run??
Any pics of the tyres, or are they brand new?
So is this basically a slash with a rally body now?Originally Posted by SnoopMaxx
or are there still differences other than the limiters?
I am lucky I don't have any money.
I think Sloracer would say it's still a Rally carOriginally Posted by CoolestDinosoar
We had different set-ups on my 1:1 Rally car depending on the conditions
tarmac or dirt ....It's still a Rally car
