Help me understand the width of this truck

Peter V says the width is the same as the 2X4... but im having trouble figuring this out. It has slash 4X4 arms... which are the same width as the REAR Pede 2X4 arms... and it runs 4 front offset wheels. If you put front offset wheels on the rear of a 2X4 pede, it gets wider...

So is the 4X4 wider overall than a 2X4? Is it the same width as a 2X4 with a protrac kit? It should be if it does use slash 4X4 arms and 4 front offset wheels.

Is this thought process correct? Does it make sense?

I am just thinking out loud here but it makes sense to me that with the 2x4 you have the width of the transmission between the arms making it wider where with the 4x4 you only have a diff between the two arms making it narrower.

So, is the slash 4X4 wider than a slash 2X4... I guess its not is it. Its the same but the 4X4 has wider arms.... so this must mean what your saying is exactly right. The arms are wider, but the distance between where they mount is narrower. So what do we do? Jato I guess? Anyone tried widening their slash 4X4?

Just searched the Slash 4X4 forum and found this. They are both out of stock, and aluminum... I dont want aluminum arms so I wont buy them... but maybe someone will come out with something different? At least we know its out there to be done.

This is a good chance to try the wheel extensions. Seems to be the easy option. Just keep some extra baerings handy.

FWIW, the Slash 4x4 is almost 13 inches wide, outer edge of tire tread to outer edge of tire tread wearing front Stampede wheel & tires. Since the relevant parts are identical between it and the Stampede 4x4 VXL...

Yup, I took some pictures for you... It's exactly the same...

That's the rear part of my second Slash 4x4 with Stampede VXL front tires... Which I'm going to convert to Stampede 4x4 as soon as the parts are available on eBay...
