    WD40? after wet run?

    Hi people,
I'm a noob so please forgive the obvious questions.

I run my MERV in wet grass and need to clean it now - I washed it properly to get all the mud/grass out and now need to apply some WD40 - as per people's suggestion.

How do I apply it? Should I just spray the whole truck? I read that bearings can get damaged by WD40? Which parts should I do? should I wait for the truck try dry completely?

    Please share your thoughts,

    Thanks!

You should have used a bit on all visible bolts (especially caps) before going for a wet run. The rust that is now forming is ugly.
I'd worry more about the water in your tires.

So I'm screwed now? Nothing I can do?
Also what about water in tires, how long can they stay there? I need to find someone with a soldering iron to do the holes...

Also, the manual suggest spraying WD40 on the bearings but I read elsewhere it dilutes the oil in them... what gives?

    Thanks!

I soak mine good before running in any wet and muddy conditions. Your not screwed at all. Just remember to do it from now on and you'll be fine.

You don't need a soldering iron. I just used a sharp object, a nail would work.

you can buy a $5 soldering iron @ radio shack

you can also use a drill

just coat the whoel truck with wd40, you arent attackign the bearings with is, so it really isn't going to force itself into the bearings

personally, i dont like wd40 as it is also a solvent.... and will still attract some dirt..... i would rather use a graphite or graphite/silicone type lube
Love how Noobs ask a ?, then say you're wrong

FACT wd40 eats the oil. so clean it with wd40 then get some good bearing oil.

im looking into getting this The Greaser - Pen Oilers

I use WD40 teflon spray - dries real quick and doesn't seem to collect as much dust
Time I enjoy wasting is not time wasted
