do we have wheel/tire options that fit this car?

I was wondering what, if any, combo's or options are out that will go right on the rally? Is it a tc tire/wheel?

From what I've read 1.9 12mm hex wheels will fit. So if thats normal TC size then the sky is the limit almost.

I'm wondering if Tamiya M chassis wheels will fit?

Their hex is the same size as regular touring wheels... but I'm left wondering if the smaller rims will clear the arms and such?

Has anyone ordered the soft tyre option? That is assuming they are available yet - Tower does not list them.
I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it.

whether they do or don't shouldn't be an issue, the merv chassis features adjustable shocks, so you should be able to set the ride hight to suit the wheels as closely as possible.

Wiggy The mini wheels were to get the overall diameter down to fit the wheel wells

I tried a set of mini wheels on my F201 and they clear just fine
so the question is how high is the wheel hub on the Slash/Rally VXL

The F201 hub is 35mm high

didn't think about that myself. the merv platform hubs are quite large, thinking about it.

I just measured a standard Tamiya Mini Cooper wheel, it also comes out to 36mm. A little too tight. I have more Mini wheels & tires than I know what to do with, so I'll probably end up buying a new Tamiya M or HPI Cup Racer chassis instead.

Edit: Just noticed a guy n RCtech has tried regular touring tires... he says it's way too grippy. Maybe too fast for it's own good... but that's not all bad. LOL

Me not being familiar with this style vehicle or running 1/16, is it possible you could name what each tire/rim combo is? I'm very seriously considering on getting a Rally and like those options (assuming they work). Thanks!

Id be willin to bet that options 5,7,and 8 will be best for real world pavement. Slicks suck on anything but prepped tracks.

This is true, standard touring car size wheels and tires will bolt right on.

That is really good to hear as I have a lot of TC foams and wheels. It will be a hoot to race TC-style on carpet with rally.

    Hello,

I had ordered once some M sized rims for my 1/16 slash, I must warn you guys that unfortunetly, they do NOT fit the knuckles because of their smaller inner diameter.

They will go on, but its a really tight fit on the knuckle, I considered shaving the inside of the rims, but that may comprise durability, the other options was to shave the knuckle, but there's not much to play with.

I though aliminum knuckles would do the trick because they seem to use less material.. But I never got around to buying any aliminum ones.

If anyone does have an idea, post up but I warn you on buying M sized touring rims. The inner diameter is too tight.

    Thanks!
