    fiesta build

I had originally had this in the gymkhana area. But now I am just using a regular fiesta chassis. It works. So I had originally a roller and the fiddly bits. But now I found out it is cheaper to get a brushed rally, and then get a brushless system. But first. Can I just buy it and pop in a brushless powerhouse or do I need to change out drivetrain components? And what wheels should I buy for drifting and what wheels should I buy for racing. What about the stockers? Are they good for anything?

You will need a different motor mount unless you go with a big block system(540 motor). The rest of the stuff is the same. Not sure on the stock tires as i never had them when i got my rollers. I use some cheap 1/10 wheels and tire on ebay from china. They work fine for all around use. For some real good ones HPI X-patterns that are belted are great. Drifters you probably can find on ebay too for 1/10 cars.

Is a "big block system" just a 1/10 motor in a 1/16 car? And drifting wheels I was thinking the stock gymkhana wheels, and racing, not sure on that, but any real road wheels will work.

can anyone provide a link to the 1/16 motor mount so I can throw in a 1/16 motor in it? And is there a better (maybe 1/10)s motor that is cheaper than the combined price of the 1/16 vxl system and motor mount price?

    EDIT:
    Is this the right mount

Just ordered the brushed fiesta. On its way! Along with the mustang body (hope it works!) and an extra battery! So excited.

Haven't even gotten the truck yet, and am already looking at new wheels, and brush less setups. Just want to know, is the linked motor usable with dual battery set up? Or do I truly need a lipo? And what lipos do I need eventually?

All I need is a battery connector for the ESC, what should I use?

lipo is definetly the way to go. That motor/esc combo is good. I have the 4600kv motor in mine. i like traxxas connectors.

^ this is a great battery for the mini's. Just keep checking to see when they come back in stock.

Yep... Don't know what traxxas was thinking. I got my mustang body. It's gonna be classic blue and white.

So here is my final upgrade list, and is there a lipo that has the traxxas connector stock.

For tires I have X patterns, and T grips. I believe I saw the T grips are for drifting

Traxxas Lipo has traxxas connector stock. SPC has it with Traxxas connector as well.
The traxxas Lipo is 2200mah & SPC is 2500mah.
Both of these are good and can't go wrong.

Looking forward to the end result.

now realizing that this is a real drifter at heart, is the sidewinder/4600 overpowered for a drifter, or is the 3m VXL better for a drifter, keeping the COG lower, not too likely to spin out, the only issue that I can think of is that it wont have enough torque. As well as the issue of a motor plate, but that wont be hard. What do you guys think.

or would the 1/10 system be a better choice, more power, more torque?

Or if a big block is the way to go, how do you hook up the battery connectors, everything else makes sense, but the battery connector.

Ive never drifted so im not sure if too much power is bad. I think they like sensored systems or brushed because of the smoothness and no cogging at low speeds. For the battery connector you have to solder it on.

    Motor: topped at 125 F
    ESC: topped at 105 f
    Battery: topped at 160 f

I don't think the battery is normal. No matter what battery I use it gets this hot. This is all stock.
