Hi.Regarding my no reverse problem.I've been through the manual setting routine at least 60 times,I think it's set in "race "mode,The only way I can think of getting reverse is by using the link. I'm enjoying the truck while the sun shines

max amps has been really good to me actually they sent me the wrong balance taps witch was my fault and they sent me free adaptors i thought that was very nice of them i have nothing against maxamps they helped me through everything

Nice? They messed up your order by installing the wrong balance taps, and you think it's nice that they sent you adapters? Given the price you paid and the ( not actually a proper- check the small print ) 3 warranty, I'd bloomin' well expect them to come through with some good customer service...

if you read army of darkness it was actually my fault that they sent the rong ones

Im down in charming Devon- there are quite a few Uk dudes around, scattered about the forum.

Due to your appalling grammar it was hard to understand your previous posts. But, I found my decoder ring again & I can see that you actually ordered Hyperion balance taps instead of the JST-XH ( Align ) taps. No worries- heres a handy chart for future reference:

Their warranty isn't even that great if you read the fine print.

The cells in their packs are from China and are probably the same cells used in packs that cost 1/3 the price.

If you want the best then go Thunderpower or Hyperion and still cost less than MA. SMC and SPC are a close second. After that is all the Chinese lipos and MA.

If you want to buy from them then go right ahead, but their shady business practices make many people not like them.
100% lies. MA is a great company and well respected in this hobby. Perhaps you'd like to list what you mean by shady. lol

Maybe it is a conspiracy? or did Max Amps pay off the magazines? probably but once again it takes money to pay off someone.

On a side note, if you call Max Amps directly instead of ordering online, they will usually give a much better price.
That's what I do. Call them or e-mail and they have always given me a better price than listed on their site. I also use SMC and they are not a bad choice as well.

Buy what you want and enjoy. MA are some of the best lipo's out there. Good company nothing 'criminal' about them.

If you say so Redman65, if you say so- the rest of us 'informed' r/c guys will stick to decent, well priced brands that dont rely on insane amounts of advertising deals in order to attract customers. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, you'll notice most of the words people say about MA packs and their customer service aint exactly good ones- if you were around when lipos were taking off you'd know that MA jacked up their prices and ratings suddenly to take advantage of young, inexperienced users entering the hobby- nothing like packs that are guaranteed to fit to entice kids into buying their batteries ( anyone with a little commonsense would know how to use a ruler/ calipers to check if any given battery will fit ).

Also, consider that the amazing 3 year warranty doesnt cover much- you only get back a % of the value or that % knocked off a new pack to replace a damaged/ faulty pack. If you ( supposedly ) overgear a setup and the lipo puffs, its your fault, no MA's. Also consider that MA never post any graphes or independent testing results to back up their ludicrous claims of discharge capability; no lipo on earth can manage 150C, yet some little business ran out of Austin's garage has gotten a hold of this tech to sell to r/c hobbiests; batteries with those kind of specs would be being employed in the defense industries or proto-type aerospace applications, not r/c toy cars. Do your own research, and see how well those packs perform when hooked upto an Eagletree or similar data logger; MA know 99% of guys dont have the means to test their ratings, so they just keep on selling the overrated packs to people who will never use them to near their rated specs...

Yeah, I figured as much. Start reading more books, any kind really- it will do wonders for your spelling, punctuation & grammar. Sure there has to be some on-line 'games' you can use to help improve your language skills these days- like the ones for the PSP to improve your math skills

MA spends thousands of dollars each year advertising in R/C magazines and forums. Normally there is nothing wrong with this except MA uses this financial leverage to get their packs to look good to readers regardless if they are good or not. In forums that they sponsor, any negative talk about their products is deleted. Through the use of money they are able to control the media and project a false superiority of their products. Go look at HK's product reviews and you will see positive and negative reviews. If one of their products is junk then they don't try to hide it, but rather leave the bad review there for all to see and make their own choice.

Also why has MA been left out of every lipo testing review? When Big Squid did a full test on various lipos, MA declined the test. Why? The way they talk they should be the benchmark for every other company to strive for and welcome a test of their product.

This is why I call them shady and don't like there business practices. I really don't care what they charge for their products, but at least be honest about the quality and their claims of greatness to let people decide if they are really worth the big $$$.

I could go on and on, but if you want to hear more then go to this link and read away: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_97..._1/key_/tm.htm

At that price I would buy 3 just in case 1 of them is no good when they arrive.
