the cage is from Integy for a Slash.... I had to modify the car, cage a little but it was a simple install.

The dress-up is little harder you need shape with a heat gun and take your time with an x-acto knife/razor

AS IS - just weighed it "ready to run"... (includes two 7cell Batts)

    14 lbs 6 oz

Keep in mind I weigh my tires down like tractors do so each tire weighs nearly 2 pounds each.

    >>> More info on tires

Pulled from another thread that asked:

... stock set-up except for the tires... the stock tires got shredded on some rocks so I have replaced them with IMEX RED ROCK KRAWLER TIRE.

Only mod/trick to tire is I made them HEAVY to place more weight closer to the ground preventing rollovers... most people add weights I added a antifreeze mix (kind of like what they do in tractors).I cut the foam and place it in a balloon and filled them with antifreeze/water mix. drained excess fluid that poured out (dont squeeze foam insert unless you want to cut back on some of the added weight) and placed it inside tire and sealed tire as usual.

How much weight does this add... A LOT! (video of weigh in)

The Tire now weighs 1lbs 9.8 ounces each. yep nearly 2 lbs a tire...

Still runs great bashing with them just not as fast ( vid -bashing with crawling tires)

cool, how does the tire flex over rocks with the liquid in the foams?

The tires flex a little more due to the extra weight... Problems I can share with water weighted tires...slowing down when going down steep inclines while crawling, hard to " hop" rocks ( that's what I call it when you burp the throttle to get the front tires over big gaps so most of the cars weight is on the new rock so you only need to crawl the back end...), worst part...once it starts to tumble, the weight in the tires keep it going.... Few other issues but overall I like the way it runs...

i like the idea of water in the foams, and have the water sealed in each part that you cut, but i whould have holes in the tires to let the tire breathe so it can flex around the rocks easier, only the balloons could punture and let the antifreeze fling out.

The tires breath through the holes in the rims (sometimes its there from factory other times I drill them), I don't put holes in the tires to protect the balloons... the balloons I use are the extra large thick punch type... one of my friends has those latex creatures inside and he has not had problems with punctures... ( not enough structure for my driving style but he loves it)

Also, I use very little antifreeze since I live in Florida... its mainly to prevent algae or weird growth in the water/foams

Type of Balloons I mainly Use But Larger size - (http://www.punchballs.com/) The party supply store by me sells them... (not this brand but it gives you the idea)

Just be patient!!! and i found that it was easy... actually it harder to figure out the best layout based on your car and how much helmet you have to work with.... A good heat gun will help you form it to the car better and remove the shell from the foam portion of the helmet if glued.

    Good luck

Thanks, this one was trash already... it was all cracked up.... so I worked with the good parts and came up with this design....

I am going to add some red, blue and white strobe lights to it... a patron at the local hobby shop said it looked like a cop car in some sci-fi movie he loved (sorry don't remember the name of the movie) he pulled up a pic on his phone and sure enough they looked very similar. Movie one was more car than truck but looked pretty darn close.

Once I place the lights on the truck, I will post a short vid for those that are interested....

Yes, all the dress up is from an old busted bike helmet.... I guess you can say this is a "green" project.... was fun, i may try to dress up more with things i find... you can get some slick results.

I do that a lot... i find something that inspires me and move forward... the one was a bike helmet, last time was some Halloween accessories... I have made a AIRSTREAM CLASSIC from a couple of 3 liter coke bottles for one of my friends-( like shells you can paint them from the inside)

PM REPLY: The cage was easy to do, I needed to remove the sections of cage (Front and back Mounts) Once they were removed, I heated the cage to bend it just a little so it looks a litle more fitted for a summit . Using the Stock Mounts for the body i attached the Body with clamps... and that was all it takes to mount a Slash shell to a summit...

Hope this helps let me know if you need visuals or more info....

Update: Took it out to bash on Sunday.... I think and feel it ran better on the rocks... It seemed to have a more centered feel to it.... Also I was able to go through some crossings that I use ti hit The top on before. I did notice that the front end is hevier... When jumping I now have to hold the throttle to keep the nose up... In the past, I had to release the throttle at the top of the jump to make it land properly. The heavier lnose may also be why it crawled better and did not flip on steep inclines.

No proof of why except to tell you it felt better. Next time I'll try to get video.
