    White 2.4ghz Transmitter

After I spilt some acetone on my transmitter and ruined the finish I decided to paint it and bring it back to life.
You may have seen this in the e-revo thread but I figured this was the more appropriate section. Thanks for looking

    I like!!

Looks very clean, what kinda paint did you use?

I'd just be concerned about finger prints/dirt.

    But looks awesome
My previous sig conflicted with a forum policy.

    Thanks.
I used that Krylon for Plastic Paint. Gloss White
It's holding up very well, I let it dry for a while so it's rock hard. the smooth finish makes it easy to wipe the dust off.
If I could get it Camo Dipped without it costing an arm and a leg, that would be awesome!!

Did you take the remote apart to paint it?

Yeah, I had to take everything apart. It was a bit of a pain but if you wrench on your rc cars you should have no problems with this. Don't rush it and give the paint a little more time than required to dry to avoid and fingerprints.

Do you need to do any prep work to the plastic or just clean and spray?

I just took a clean cloth and acetone and just tried to remove as much dirt as possible.
Once that acetone touches the radio it turns grey so that is the point of no return.
The spray will adhere well to the TX, give it the full time to dry before handling it. Good luck and post pics when you are done.

2 coats should be enough. The krylon covers really well. Just be sure and give it more than enough time to dry. You will be itching to put it back together ut you dont want to risk a fingerprint and ruin it.
I dont have any pics but it isn't hard to take apart. Take a picture of the insides when you take the back cover off Good luck and post pics when your'e done

Do you think painting the antenna tip would hinder its performance or range at all?

    Haha he said Knob
The two little black buttons on the left just pop off with your fingers. Use some needle nose pliers to remove those 2 Chrome Rings, they are pretty strong so they shouldn't get scratched.

For the Steering wheel take an exact o knife blade and carefully pry out that 2.4ghz emblem, It should come out pretty easy. There is a small screw holding the wheel on. Good luck and just take your time. If you think its dry don't touch it and let it dry some more!

    Knob. LOL
Did you paint the inside as well? 1/2 then the other 1/2 or did you pull the guts out and then put it together and then paint them?
Right now I am putting a coat on the inside, then the outside. Will post up pics in a few days

No I only painted the outside halves (took them apart and gutted them first thought)
Then, after about 3 coats had dried this way, I put them together (lightly, not screwed back together) and painted a few coats just along the outer edge along the seam. I dont think theres really any point in painting the inside, no ones ever going to see it.
