you know that no slip rubber mat stuff, with the little checkered squares, one squar with material on square without in a checker pattern. you can use than and spay down the black then take some greyish and lay it down. i belive its dark to light when your laying down paint, could be the other way. i forget

You could also use a fine mesh for a more scaled down pattern, but the biggest challenge is actually to hold the mesh in place while spraying..the slightest movement will put the pattern out of place..

An easier way would be to get a carbon look decals.

here is a picture of the kitchen mesh I used light blue first then the bright metalic after...I know it not close to real CF but it was the look I was going for. Oh and thats how I play with colors before i even pick up the airbrush using the scrap from cutting the body out.

This CF was painted by spraying a charcoal color through the rubber mat, and backing with black.

    look on youtube
there is a couple "how-to" videos.
I did one a while ago and came out ok for the first time. need to use transparent paint first, then silver, then color or grey, then black over the whole thing after drying between coats. I moved the mat at an angle slightly for a realistic effect between coats.
Test on a spare scrap of clear plastic. It will take an extra day to do so but worth it your first time.
