Have you upgraded the drive-shafts on slash 2wd ?

Have you have upgraded / changed the drive-shafts on your 2wd Slash.

If so what have you used and are they stronger/better ?

    Cheers,

I didn't personally do it but I bought my truck used and it has MIP C-CVDS on it and I am surprising impressed with them. I had not heard wonderful things about them but I am finding they are working pretty well so far. I have a locked slipper and basically just wheelied up and down the street for 2 packs, then I jumped the thing in the street for 2 more packs and so far so good. I have to say I'm impressed so far and quite surprised actually. I have personally had issues with their CVD's before, but the ones on my slash are holding up.

    Thanks for the reply,

I'm running 11.1v Lipos and a 8.5t (4000Kv) Ezrun brushless system and have spotted that the stock shafts are starting to wear at the UJ pins rather quickly,
    So need something stronger.
Will take your advice and see what others have to say incase there's a cheap way of upgrading.

    Thanks,
    Lee

My Mod Slash has the Fuze 3300kv system in it, and I just put on the Jato shafts. They work great and the dust boot keeps them moving well. Two full weekends of racing with them and zero issues... Cheap too. I bought the half shafts @ my LHS for 8 bucks...

    I should have mentioned that...
I am running the Jato Shafts in my rustler and though the dust boots need to be ripped to allow the extra reach, they work fantastically. No problems to date running 1/8th scale buggy tires which have loads of grip and a locked slipper. I even had another set all ready to go into my slash assuming the MIP shafts were going to break at first trigger pull.

If you look around at the many threads on CVD's and drive shafts you will see that there are people having some success with CVD's but I think you will see more people with issues than success.

IMO most drive shaft issues can be solved with a slipper clutch adjustment but if that does not work for you I would suggest the Jato shafts or possibly the shafts from the Slash 4x4

Really? I've got them on the Slash Proline Suspension kit, and though the boot is stretched somewhat, I didn't have to rip them or anything.

Agreed! This is what someone suggested to me and I tried it. Haven't had an issue with shafts since I loosened up the slipper. And it didn't take much.

if you want to have driveshafts that wont break no matter how hard you abuse them get the MIP X duties. They work with the 2wd and 4wd according to mip. They run $63 but they should be the last set of driveshafts you buy.
