    I love my mini wiener.

I just wanted to show her off again.
I finally got her on video doing what she loves second best. First best -- playing with her stuffed duck.

    This was last night.
    It's in HD, too.

This evening we were playing with her stuffed duck when out of the corner of my eye I saw a cricket (hate those guys) bouncing across my living room. The cat saw it first because, well, he wasn't doing anything. He lunged for it first. So I told Xena, "Get the cricket!" She immediately stopped playing with her toy, turned around, saw what the cat was doing and dashed for the bug.

Ya. She caught it. She toyed with it for a minute. Ya. She ate it.

She's pretty. I love my wieners too. I've got one male, three females, and six pups. They're great dogs, bad thing about mine is that my male is a certified cat killer and two of my females are chicken killers.
    I will find you!

    That's a lot of wieners!

My little Xena is 8 months old with a lot of puppy energy left. It's always a great time watching her run around playing with the cat.

This very short video clip is at the end of one of their bouts. It's so short you probably have to watch it a couple times to appreciate the body language of each one.

That's not all. We also have a German Shepard, Mastiff, Chihuahua, Pomerania/Yorkie mix, Sealyham Terrier, some goats, donkeys, chickens, 6-7 cats (they come and go, can't say for sure how many). I live on a farm just in case you couldn't tell.

Sorry Dad, not meaning to be a play on words. I really do have free range chickens and my females two females that I let outside the fence kill them. I have to chain my big dogs up so the don't do the same. The fenced area is my males and at least four cats that ventured in never came out alive. So again play on words were not intentional.

The "play on words" posts that crossed the line have been removed. If you can still see your post you may have been close to the line but did not cross it so no need to apologize.

This is for Slasher. This is a pic of our new baby Snoopy. I decided to keep her cause she is fully blind in one eye and I think the most she can see is shadows in the other, and she is such a cutie.

One eye will not slow her down.
Blind dogs are truly special. I've met two, one was a wiener. Both of them got around just fine.
It's amazing the bond they make, and how they seem to develop a sixth sense. I watched the blind dachshund navigate a living room crowded with furniture. Didn't skip a beat.

The owner told me though that when she moved furniture around, if the dog was heading for a collision, she would say "watch it" and the dog made a course correction.

    Amazing animals.
    Yours will be just fine.
