57.6mph on 3s lipos. Bone stock with high speed pinion. Runs perfect, wheelies anytime, 20 minute runs most times as well. Oh, ya I have a large heatsink on the motor and a fan that blows on both....otherwise they get pretty hot.

This ^ since that'd be at the theoretical top speed without taking into account wind resistance, friction, etc etc.

I don't know, that seems fairly reasonable.

I've recorded 62.4 mph with a mini Revo, 3S LiPo and 31/50 gears. The only other thing changed was shock oils. Other than that the truck was completely stock, right down to the tires, body and AM, TQ radio.

The difference between 23t and 31t is huge. In the range of top end being 20mph higher for 31t over 23t. I believe 63mph with 31t with enough road surface. But 57mph on 23t is extremely hard to swallow.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see a video of it :-)

What's everyone using for checking speeds?

Is there a good phone app for this? Could just velcro the phone.

As noted above I use the EagleTree data logger and optional GPS module.

Again, not that far off. I just looked at my EagleTree files and I recorded 55.4 mph with 25/50 gearing. Maybe he had a tail wind or something.

How accurate is telemetry compared to a radar gun? Can you program it with tire ballooning? I'm was looking into going that route with my merv.

The 23t pinion on 3S or 4S will get you the same speed no matter what lipo you use, it will hit the rev limiter and get around 49-51mph.

If you run bigger tires its a different story though

Fastest me and my top speed buddy got was 83mph, (not on video)

    Fastest on video is 82mph.

Just curious: when you say 50k speed limiter, that's imposed by the stock esc and NOT on the motor right? I know the intent is to keep the motor from overheating and demagnatizing itself, but I have a MMP, 4S (2x 2S 70C burst 2500 mah) setup to hopefully break the sound barrier - once I get it to track straight

If the truck is stock and depending upon tires and gearing, that speed sounds very reasonable. Don't be scared away by the silly high speeds that some achieve as they may be putting a lot of time and money into it to do so.

Pretty cool. I downloaded the sportstracker app and velcro'd the phone to the car. Hit 32.9mph with a couple quick bursts up the street. It also has mapping so it'll show the satellite image and showing your run with speed readouts.

    Stock except for a 2s.

How are dirt hawgs for high speed runs? I would imagine better stability and I think a little larger diameter then stock, to increase topend.

Its set by the esc. if you run a different esc there will be no rev limiter.
