SMC lipo with battery leads on the side

I bought one without realizing it wouldn't fit right in my 2wd slash. Has anyone come up with a way to run these? Should I cut the chassis stiffener on the side of the batt tray, disassemble the hardcase and rewire it out the end, or should I just get rid of it?

I routed out room for it on the side with my Dremel. I haven't had any problems with weakening the chassis, I think it's plenty strong even with the material removed.

To be on the safe side, cut a "V" shape into the battery tray with a cutoff wheel, and then smooth it with a sanding drum to be U-shaped.. that way there are no sharp edges that could turn into a crack.

Thanks for the quick replies! I guess I'll give it a shot. If anyone has had a problem after cutting the side of the batt tray please speak up!

I have not done it but I have cut apart other things to fit just take your time and keep checking the fit so that you only remove as little as needed..

Yea, I'll be sure to avoid the hack-job look and definitely finish the bottom of the slot with a round file or drum or something.

Maybe I should just mount the battery under the chassis instead!
