    Swelling Lipo's !!!

    Hi all,

I'm running a ezrun 60a esc and a 9t motor in my 2wd slash but my battery's are swelling due to use.
The battery's are Mystery 11.1v 2800Mah Lipos, Link to the actual battery's below-
    http://www.dinodirect.com/Mystery-11.../AFFID-20.html

The swelling is worrying but once the battery has sat for a couple of hrs the swelling has gone, I guess my battery's aren't up to the job.

What lipo's would you recommend for my slash set-up for someone who's on a budget.

    Cheers,
    Lee

It's quite possible that those batteries can't provide enough power, 2800 mAh is rather low for the slash.. so they run at their limit and swell. If the swelling is just by a small amount, that's ok.. if they balloon more noticably, get rid of them.

Try an SPC battery or Pro-match racing Lipo

    I agree with these ^^^

    But, Venom's lipos are good.

Try ******* lipos. I am not allowed to give you a link on here because one of the mods told me they make knockoff TRX connectors but the batteries are good quality.

As far as mah's on packs go. Usually in these 1/10 trucks and especially the heavy slash you don't want anything less than 5000mah.

I bashed and raced a 2800, 20C LiPo in my stock-powered, VXL Slash 4x4 for over 100 cycles and the pack still runs good. I was careful to not over discharge the pack nor over gear the vehicle when running this pack. If you watch gearing and heat, an accurately rated 2800+ pack is more than good enough.

I have two of the ******* 5000's, both are great batteries and got them pretty cheap on ebay. $34 was the most I paid for one. I have have 2 Max Amps 2200mah that swell like crazy. But like Arakon and CarGuy7a said....they 2000's arent big enough. Go with 5000!
If you can't beat it....destroy it!

    Cheers for all the advice.

I'm going to look at both Venom and ******* battery's.
Probably going to try & get something like a 5000mah or as close as possible to that depending on price.

    Cheers.

    Hi all again.

    I'm looking at a ******* 5000Mah 3s rated at 20c to 30c.

Would this be ok or would i have to get a better C rating ?

The exact battery is found on ebay, Item number - 250638730827

    Cheers,

I have two 11.1v 5400mah Venom lipos. They are great! They have extreme power! Makes my slash a rocket ship! I have had them since Christmas and still going strong. I love them

    I've gone and bought a Turningy 5000mah 3s lipo.

I'll keep the other lipo's (the swelling ones) for my Axial Honcho scale truck as they shouldn't swell on that, but I'll be keeping a good eye on them though just incase.

    Cheers for the help.

Hyperion 45C are really good packs. I run those and *******'s with no problems. For me I try to stick with higher C ratings cause I use multiple packs for multiple trucks.
